R — Reference point

Moves the horizontal and vertical origin by the given dots; every later A/B/LO/LW/X position shifts by that much (EPL PG p. 143). A persistent printer setting: an R sent once affects later jobs and stored forms too. The preview applies the offset; the manual's 'overrides q, uses the full print-head width' side effect is not modelled.

Parameters

ParameterMeaning
x,yOrigin offset in dots, added to every later A, B, LO, LW and X position

Common mistake

Forgetting that R persists: the offset stays on for the following labels in the stream (and, on the printer, for later jobs); send R0,0 when the next format expects the plain origin.
