TSPL — tools, printers and reference

TSPL (and TSPL2) is the native language of TSC thermal printers. It is line-oriented and measured in real units: SIZE takes millimetres or inches, rotation is given in degrees, and REFERENCE shifts the origin. Many TSC models ship TSPL-EZ firmware, which additionally accepts other vendors' languages through documented emulation.

Language support below comes from manufacturer documentation and our own measured engine coverage. No printer was physically tested by Labelixa; treat every claim as documentation, not as a guarantee.

Tools

TSPL viewer

Paste code and see the rendered label in your browser — no printer needed.

TSPL validator

Check a job before printing: unknown commands, missing fields and unsupported types, with line numbers.

TSPL command reference

Every command we understand, with syntax, an example and an honest support status.

Printers that run this language

Native support

These models run the language as their own — no translation layer between your job and the print head.

Questions

My TSC printer accepts ZPL — is it a Zebra?
No: it is running TSC's documented ZPL emulation. Your jobs are then ZPL and belong in the ZPL tools, but the device is still a TSC and its native language is TSPL. The two modes are separate and we list them separately for that reason.

Is the preview identical to what the printer produces?
No. Our renderer is an interpretation of the published programming guide at 203 dpi and has not been verified against physical hardware; fonts in particular are approximated. Use it to catch structural mistakes early, then verify on your own printer.
