CODEPAGE — Code page

Selects the character code page. The engine reads UTF-8, so the command is parsed but does not affect drawing.

Engine status: Parsed, not rendered

The engine recognises the command and skips it: it is a DEVICE setting and does not change the image on the media. Your label still parses cleanly.
