ZPL7002 — Print width exceeds the model's printhead

^PW (or the label width when ^PW is absent) is wider than the selected model can print. Content beyond the printhead is simply not printed on that machine.

SeverityWarning
CategoryPrinter model

Label that triggers it

^XA^PW700^FO50,50^A0N,40^FDHELLO^FS^XZ

This finding depends on the selected printer model, not on the code alone. The API call that produces it:

curl -X POST "https://api.labelixa.com/v1/diagnostics?model=ZQ620&dpmm=8" \
     --data "^XA^PW700^FO50,50^A0N,40^FDHELLO^FS^XZ"

Finding: ZPL7002 · line 1:4 — Print width 700 dots exceeds ZQ620's maximum (576 dots) — content beyond the printhead will not be printed on that model

How to fix it

Reduce ^PW to the model's maximum given in the message, or choose a wider printer model.

Corrected label

^XA^PW576^FO50,50^A0N,40^FDHELLO^FS^XZ

The same label is clean with this call:

curl -X POST "https://api.labelixa.com/v1/diagnostics?model=ZQ620&dpmm=8" \
     --data "^XA^PW576^FO50,50^A0N,40^FDHELLO^FS^XZ"

Commands involved

^PW

ZPL7001 Model does not print at this resolution · ZPL7003 Print speed above the model's maximum
