Native means the printer's own language. Emulation means a separate, manufacturer-documented mode that accepts another vendor's language — useful, but not the same thing.
| Language | Type | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| ZPL | Documented emulation ZPL EMULATION, and the VENDOR states it on its own 'Emulation' row (data sheet: 'Standard emulation EPL, ZPL II, TSC'; user manual technical table: 'Emulation: Zebra, EPSON / ZPL, EPL, TSC'). TWO DIFFERENCES set this record apart: (1) **emulation is NOT off, it is the FACTORY DEFAULT** — the manual's settings table lists 'Emulation: ZPL, EPL, TSPL' with default 'ZPL'; the configuration label also prints 'Emulation....ZPLII'. On NOVEXX and Printronix emulation was a mode that had to be TURNED ON first; here it ships on. (2) **THERE IS A COVERAGE LIST** — section 8.1 'ZPL Command Sets' of the manual lists the supported commands ONE BY ONE (measured: 187 commands, from `^A` to `~WQ`). Wasp and NOVEXX had NO such list; this is the first record that can answer 'which command' with the vendor's own document | VENDOR_EMULATION_DOCUMENTATION Source · 2026-09-18 |
This model accepts ZPL through a manufacturer-documented emulation mode. Emulations are generally good, but they are a separate mode: coverage and edge-case behaviour can differ from the native language, and no vendor promises byte-identical output. Test the specific label you intend to print.
This body ships in a single resolution (300 dpi), which removes one class of surprise: a label written for it always renders at the same physical size, and a design made for a 300 dpi printer will come out roughly twice as large here.
Anything positioned beyond 104 mm of print width will not appear on the label; the compatibility checker flags this for the ZPL job you paste.
