What Is an ITF-14 Barcode?

ITF-14 is a linear barcode that carries the GTIN-14 of a shipping container or outer case. It is printed on cartons and outer packaging and tolerates the lower print quality of corrugated board.

How to print ITF-14 in ZPL

On a Zebra printer an ITF-14 barcode is one command, ^BI. The example below is a complete label; paste it into the preview to see it drawn before you send it to a printer.

^BI is Industrial 2 of 5 — the symbology behind ITF-14 — and encodes an even number of digits. All 14 digits go in the data, check digit included (the printer does not compute it here). ^BY3 sets the narrow bar; the bearer bars come from the ^GB box you draw around the symbol.
